I am trying to get a general idea if anyone would be interested in a hiking guide for hiking other mountains in the Eastern Sierra that are similar in difficulty to Mt. Whitney. I know it is extremely difficult to get a permit to hike Whitney and that it is greatly sought-after because it is the tallest, but there are LOTS of nearby peaks that are just as enjoyable (or arguably better) to climb. A lot of people come to climb Whitney and then are unable to go due to permit issues and then turn back around and go home (not PCTers obv.). I find this upsetting considering there are SO many other wonderful mountains to be climbed nearby that offer much better views from the top! Anyway, I am just trying to get a feel as to if anyone would be interested in a small guide of maybe 10-15 other peaks in the area that are in the same wheelhouse as an alternate to Whitney. Please let me know what you think and if this would be something you would be interested in having. Thanks!
