Nice day on the classic East Ridge. Other than the extremely long sand slog from UBSL to Russell-Carrillon saddle, was a fantastic blue bird day. The ridge had a little snow but it was easy to avoid or go through. High quality class 3 with serious heart-pumping exposure.

This was the only snow, but easy to walk around

Awesome pictures, BFR. Thanks and congratulations.

I climbed from Tulainyo over the ridge and down to UBSL two summers ago. I can't imagine climbing that sand slog from UBSL.

Had I known I was going to be stranded in Lone Pine for two days, due to a fire at Horseshoe Meadows, I would have tried climbing that ridge to Russell.

Congrats BFR!

Was it intuitive to find the route from the pass to the summit?

Were you able to cross the knife edge between the lower and upper summit, or did you bypass it by navigating around it?
