I am looking for a motel/hotel (with high altitude) to stay at prior to hitting Whitney Portal. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Mammoth Lake, CA at approx 7,880 ft or Glacier Lodge (west of Big Pine) on Glacier Lodge Rd. at approx 8,000 ft.
