Mt Whitney Zone Forums General Discussion Langley in July via New Army and Old Army Passes

Thinking of doing Langley as a warm up for Whitney. Concerned about snow coverage, though, as I am not yet able to rely on ice ax/crampon skills.

Given the snowpack this year, do folks have predictions regarding when the two major routes up Langley (i.e., New Army Pass, and Old Army Pass) respectively would be sufficiently clear of snow/ice to permit a axe-and-crampon-free hike up the mountain?
