Laura, you made the following comment: 5) Microspikes will NOT safely get you up the slabs to Clyde Meadow this year. Having so little snow has actually significantly increased the danger level on those slabs and will for yet some time this year.
I don't have good snow travel skills yet. (I tried to take a winter travel course with Kurt this February in So Cal, but mother nature didn't send enough snow ;-/ ) Am I correct that what you are saying is that the mixed ice and rock are more dangerous to travel on than a blanket of snow over the ice and rock?
