Actually, there has been quite a discussion over at the
Yosemitenews board on this very topic (it has sort of morphed into a very interesting political dialogue most recently)
As a population, our voting record is dismal, so I guess that we are getting what we deserve...head down....face in phone...shuffle, shuffle (damn! I see that "cell phone shuffle" all day long, and it is very unnerving.)
