Basic Mountaineering & Mountaineering Safety

Seven weeks of lectures and practical experience in mountaineering and beginning rock climbing

LECTURE: Tuesdays, 6:30 -- 8:00 PM at the Kerr McGee Center

PRACTICE: Wednesdays, 5:00 PM until dark, plus a weekend day hike and a weekend overnight hike

$30.00 signup fee.
Must be 14 years of age or older
(14 and 15 years need a parent/guardian also taking the class;
16 and 17 years need their parents'/guardians' release/permission).

*Students are required to have access to the textbook "Mountaineering: Freedom of the Hills"
-- 7th Edition. (Available at your favorite bookseller).
*A UIAA certified helmet is needed, but a limited number are available for loan.
* Class is limited to 40 students; first come-first served.
