Recently, I was looking at a map (okay, I admit, I am either reading a book or looking at a map) and when I looked at Ridgecrest, and how flat, hot, dry, desolate it was (did I forget any other negatives, Steve & Wagga?) I was thinking that my army service in the desert was not nearly as bad as it could have been...However, during a second glance, I discovered a unique property about Ridgecrest: it is nearly equidistant to the highest and lowest elevations in the contiguous US!

The body betrays and the weather conspires, hopefully, not on the same day.
