Last August during the tail end of my JMT hike, I wanted to get spring water from the back of the Ranger Station at Crabtree meadow. After crossing the Whitney stream found out that the way to the cabin and the spring are all blocked by construction crew. My fav ranger Rob was not there either.
So just wondering whether this construction is complete and access to spring is open or not. Any recent news on this? Currently planning to camp at Crabtree meadow one night. If the access is closed , then would proceed to Guitar Lake.
