I missed out on the lottery and no permits are available until October. I'd really like to hike Mt. Whitney in a single day sometime in the next few weeks and am hoping someone out there had someone in their group cancel and is open to having me join them!
I am an in shape 29 year old and open to doing this trip with anyone else who is fit enough to complete it in a day. I haven't done a 14k peak yet, but I recently tested myself on San Gorgonio (9.8 miles, 6,900 to 11,500) and reached the summit in 3 hours 25 minutes. I'm certainly willing to chip in for costs and more, and if you are in the Los Angeles area, I would be willing to drive you up.
