Mt Whitney Zone Forums General Discussion Is Independence-OV road open in early October?

Finally my preps are falling into place and I may be able to bike during the first wk of October. So my q. is the Independence - Onion V road open in the first wk of October? Just want to make sure before I buy the tkts. How are the snow conditions in OV in early October? Are the camp sites still open in early october?
