Dang, I'm jealous. I had plans to hike Clouds Rest 2 weeks ago but Tioga Road was closed because of a fire. Several in my hiking group (including my wife) have hiked Clouds Rest in the last several weeks.
I plan to go there soon and camp one night at one of those many campgrounds off Tioga road, start early and hike Clouds Rest the next day, and drive back to Reno that night. I figure I can do that on my two days off (Wed & Thur).
Occasionally when my group encounters a solo hiker someone always says they don't want to hike alone. I'm kind of looking forward to it. I notice that John and Steve mostly hike alone. I figure I won't have to wait for anyone. I like short breaks not taking off my backpack. Waiting for others sometimes drives me crazy. But I do enjoy the fun we have as a group.
