Unless the weather makes a miraculous turn-around, we're in for another dry year.
Looking back at the past dry winter/springs (2012-2015), Tioga Pass in Yosemite opened May 2 - 11. In those years, people began using the switchbacks about a month later. By 6 weeks later, the switchbacks were the only way to go.
