As of Feb. 1st, state-wide snow survey is just 24% of the Feb. 1st average. The Eastern Sierra snow courses contain about 5 inches of water equivalent, which translates to a 34% snow pack in the local mountains, putting current snow levels just above the driest year on record - 2014 - 2015.

Snow surveyors are having to carry their skis over some passes, because there isn't ski-able snow.
