Not looking to go over Whitney Pass. Looking to come up Crabtree Creek toward Whitney Pass and then cicle around to Dscovery Pinnacle and Whitney. The 1916 map I am looking at appears to climb toward Crabtree PAss before circling, CCW toward Discoverry Pinnacle. I understand that at the time it was drawn, the idea was to meet up with the trail around Whitney Pass.
