Your experience at Benson Lake was totally different from mine ...almost 10 years ago. No mosquitoes, more fish than we could eat, but we only stayed a few hours.
But it was truly a heavenly place with that fantastic beach. Oh to get back there sometime....
And since it was so far from civilization, I didn't much worry about looking for a private spot to swim
