Mt Whitney Zone Forums General Discussion Permits going into the day lottery pool

Due to cancellations, there will be a number of permits available for overnight trips starting 9/18 and a couple more starting 9/21 going into the day-of lottery. So, no return to Whitney for me and my crew this month but maybe someone will make use of them... and perhaps the weather will be better than it is this week!

I called today and there were 11 overnight permits available for the 18th. No day permits were available for the 18th.

All mine were overnight permits; and I released 15 that had a start date of the 18th. So, I don't know how there could be less than 15 overnight available.
