I was just checking recreation.gov for a friend, and it looks like people are starting to cancel, as there are some spots available for june and early july. There are even overnight permits for saturday and sunday june 23-24.
Cool! I got word today that they were fixing a glitch in the system where group size reductions were not being returned to the system. Maybe they fixed it today, so there are a significant number available.
...or maybe not, and there will continue to be some available.
I hope it is this case.
