Much as I love F1, LeMans racing has become much more relevant to the development of personal transportation - this year hybrids were on pole and may lead the race. Energy recovery is a very significant technology, and will be in most new cars in the near future. No F1 this weekend, but at least we have LeMans & Bloomsday.
If you think this is out of place on the Whitney Zone forum, remember that to get there you need an efficient car or depend on public transportation where there is practically none.

Happy for the cool factor, but then there's also the dumb factor: water on a gasoline fire. Ever notice how in similar crashes/fires at NASCAR or Indy style races the fire crews just roll up in nomex jump suits with a couple of bottles of halon and its out in seconds? No muss no fuss
