I backpacked the High Sierra Trail and the John Muir Trail from August 3rd to August 21st. It was quite the experience as the weather did not fully cooperate. I became intimately familiar with Thunderstorms. Here are some photos........you can see more and more of the photos at: http://calicokat.smugmug.com/Hiking/Sierra-Nevada There are Topo Maps of my entire journey to see as well and some videos at a later time.

I am in the process of blogging about the day to day adventure and if anyone is interersted, it is here: http://calicokat-hstjmt2012.blogspot.com/

Nice going! I am envious of your ability to stay on the trail so long. After a few days, I start longing for a hot shower and soft bed. :/

Some of those pictures are really outstanding!

Where did you resupply?

Great trip! I had the exact same trip planned about 3 years ago...except in reverse...ending at the HST trailhead. I was surprised at how few people combine these 2 trails. I ended up breaking my ankle pretty badly before my trip and had to cancel so these pics have certainly reignited that spark. Next summer maybe...
Great job! Great pics! Would love to see your gear list and resupply strategie and what not.

Great pics! How did the Big Agnes Fly Creek handle the weather? I just encountered some weather using my BA Seedhouse; stayed dry, but had to do a little on-trail, spur-of-the-moment retro-fitting to address some minor design issues with the tent.
