A new species of ducks has been spotted settling in for the winter in Yosemite Valley. This duck is commonly found all summer all over the Sierra, especially in frequently traveled areas where there is no trail.
It is expected that the flock will remain for the winter, but come spring, they will likely spread out across the Sierra, so hikers may again spot them in various locations.
If you come across one in your travels, it is recommended that you not approach them too closely, as they are particularly fragile and may be destroyed if you attempt to touch one.
Thank you for understanding.
