Watch out for this bloke:

NORAD is tracking Santy:

If you are doing your own flying, you'll likely need the approach plate to the North Pole:

And Santy has to take a check flight, like all other pilots:

Well, yes, we're flying to Denver on the 27th. So...we'll watch out for St. Nicholas' return flight; he seemed a little nervous during his check flight.

Venison for dinner?

Wagga

It's good to see you're going to post NORAD'S updates on Santa Claus. I will be carefully watching for Santa's latest whereabouts.

Merry Christmas

Love that approach plate. Approach on 360T, as if there were an alternate. I suppose the holding pattern is something like "at 4.0 NM turn left to 270T, maintain course and altitude . . . indefinitely"

Wherever you go, there you are.

Santa's check ride is not the only instance of shooting up your own aircraft.

Thanks for the weather update. Looks like Denver's weather will be a little better than the Eastern Sierra this week. We might have a snowy drive to Reno on the 26th, but better weather for the flight on the 27th.

Unfortunately, we won't make it to the game, but have fun. Go Broncos! (So sorry, 49'ers)

P.S. A friend of mine, from Sri Lanka, had been living in Iowa for several years, when his brother and family immigrated to the U.S. from Sri Lanka. After landing at Chicago (in January), my friend's brother remarked, "What a strange country. From what we could see from the airplane, it seemed to be covered in white sand!" My friend said, "That was snow." "What is snow?" Asked his brother. To which my friend said, "You'll see when we get to the parking lot..."

No shooting fuel tanks, and no snow (yet), but I flew to MI Xmas Eve. Unfortunately the first leg was delayed, causing us to miss the second. So took two more flights, with a stop in Houston to get to ORD. Only got there 8 hours later than planned.

Our 8-year-old had a meltdown because she was sure Santa wouldn't leave anything if she didn't get here in time. :D

Here's hoping the return trip is uneventful!

Snow today! On Mt Whitney last night, and here in MI today.

Several pictures from a local nature center:

Go Broncos! We were at the Aquarium across the road from the stadium. At the half time break, it looked like a lot of KS fans were leaving...LOL.

On Saturday, we paid a visit to Bedlam Museum - aka the Childrens Museum. Not bad if you're a ten year old boy.

Nice smooth flight back - CRJ700 - nice. Lots of snow around the Bishop area.
