Road from Lone Pine to Whitney Portal

Here goes another road related question:

I am told the road from Lone Pine to Whitney Portal trailhead is also unpaved road.

Can a sedan go on there? Or SUV is recommended?

Hmmm... not sure where you are getting your info, but it is completely incorrect. The road is paved all the way. It is closed only during winter months at a point several miles from Whitney Portal.

A sedan will do just fine.

The road has been paved since 1953 at least. Start in at 1 hour:25 minutes... The sound is wonky, though. Have a ball.
