Thinking of heading up around Cottonwood Lakes next week, and up Old Army Pass. If anyone is in that area this weekend and may advise if there is snow left on it, would greatly appreciate it. Thanks!

Hi yvonne, and nyhker,
I would recommend OAP. When I did it (June 28th) there was still some snow very near the top that I avoided by going "up". I have since seen pictures that show a "virtually" clear trail. Of course the recent weather may have changed that. Not sure what the weather was like at OAP, but at the portal there was some flooding, and lots of dirt left in the parking lots.

I was up there on the 13th. There was one snow patch about 10 ft long and that's about it. I just slowly and cautiously walked across it. Nothing dangerous about it, and no gear was required. It's probably gone by now.

Thanks so much for that great pic 2600fromatari and info, John. Really appreciate it. As luck would have it, Langley is now pushed back to middle Sept & plugging in a few other peaks this weekend. Looks like you had fantastic weather, unlike some friends who got rain last weekend up at Cirque. cheers!
