A hiker lying in a stream in Kiwiland was rescued after a passing hiker activated a PLB.

Note that in some places a PLB is free or low-cost. Think how much of a burden this takes off SAR teams...

Since the last time we discussed PLBs, we have added a lot of new members, and with the enormous task of finding MA370 in the news, it seems like a good time time bring up beacons again.
