Thought I would show you all some east coast mountains in the Adirondacks with some Spring snow still pretty thick. I made it up there twice in the past month, this report is from this past weekend.
Thanks for posting your trip(s). I really miss this part of the country (I used to live in NY) I forget how dense the mountains are compared to the west. I remember the hardwoods up north would be clustered so tight that you had to stay on the trail, otherwise it would be to difficult to manage.
The body betrays and the weather conspires, hopefully, not on the same day.
Yea, could be tricky at times, and often precludes any view from all but the highest summits! The most unique thing is the ice on the routes in the Spring and winter, which underlies the snow which complicates even the more straightforward climbs.
Lol, i accidentally deleted my reply above your post. Anyway, winter hiking or sort of snow hiking is a good form of training. Wish i have gear for those kind of hiking exploration. A very good detailed trip report. Thanks for posting.
