Bob R sent me a link to his pictures from the Wheeler Peak climb in New Mexico. I took the liberty to post the link here: 2009-10-22 Wheeler PeakThe set of pics is well documented, so it's a pretty nice report. Looks like a beautiful hike, Bob. Only that last one.... Probably the most danger you faced all day! I never leave home without my little Swiss army knife.

I wonder if you can filter beer....
OMG,Bob -- too funny, good thing I did not have a beer in my hand (the keyboard couldn't handle it)
I ask all the right questions...(still looking for "Three Chico Girls" peaks up north; must bee near Three Sisters,Oregon)
The body betrays and the weather conspires, hopefully, not on the same day.

Years ago, a no-longer-ambulatory friend learned that I would be hiking to Havasupai Canyon & down to the Colorado River. He gave me a can of Guinness Draft & asked me to pour it into the river for him, for spiritual purposes. I did that, but with his permission I filtered the nectar through my kidneys first...
Beer is never owned, just leased.

Beer is never owned, just leased. No "100 yards away from trails and water sources" rules there? Excellent filtration set up..................DUG

Bee, do a search on " Chico" on the Whitney board. You have to go back a couple of years.

Along that line, here is "The Nipple" from the PCT, near Blue Lake (between Ebbets Pass and Carson Pass). The peak on the right has the official name. The matching bump to the left is in the same ridge.
