Hey, anybody watching this epic unfold? Check out this SPOT They Started at Whitney Portal for a JMT FKT attempt 3 1/2 days ago. Way off the pace for the record now, but quite a drama nonetheless. Kirssy had to call it at VVR, but Jenn is going on, now apparently with a pacer since Red's. Check out her track at Garnet Lake!! You can also see a more or less running commentary at #JMTFKT.

I need to look up Vermillion Valley resort -- I had never heard of it (I was sitting here playing some sort of word puzzle to fill in the letters)

Absolutely the best resupply/r&r on the John Muir Trail. A few miles out of the way, and more than worth it.

Word from Twitter is that Jenn finished about 4 yesterday afternoon, which would put her time at 4D4:20. Well off Sue Johnston's 3D20:00, but apparently a strong finish. It will be interesting to hear the whole story.Press and social media are both quiet, though, which is seems a little strange. SPOT quit around Sunrise, and there were no first-hand Tweets north of Red's.
