Mt Whitney Zone Forums General Discussion Anyone know Ranger Daniel on the Main Mt Whitney Trail?

Hello -

By chance, does anyone know a ranger by the name of Daniel that works on the Main Mt Whitney Trail?

I fell on the trail yesterday and hit my head on a rock. Ranger Daniel and an EMT were right below me on the trail and took great care of me.

I was a little shaken and only got the ranger's first name. I'd like to thank him but don't know his last name.

If anyone knows Ranger Daniel's last name, pls PM me.

I believe Daniel may be his last name. An "Inyo Ranger Daniel" is mentioned in the China Lake MRG report of the SAR on a hiker who fell from the Main Trail last year.

I would guess that Bob Rockwell would know this Ranger and could provide his full name.

Try the volunteer coordinator. Chances are Ranger Daniel was a volunteer.

Daniel is not a volunteer, he is on the paid wilderness rangers on Mt.Whitney. He works out of the Mt Whitney Ranger Distric in Lone Pine.
