I can't vouch for the validity of this. It was posted on the John Muir Trail Facebook page about 11PM"

"This isn't a John Muir Trail hiker - so I hope it's okay that I post this here... but my step-dad's brother is missing... he's in his 70's and a VERY experienced hiker...

Robert, from Mammoth Lakes, CA, is missing. He climbed Crazy Mountain, near Big Timber, in Montana. He called his wife about noon . . was on top, but had run out of water, and he was totally exhausted, and it's hot here. He still hasn't been heard from, and the Sheriff in Sweet Water County said they won't do anything until he's missing for 2 days. He said it would cost $10,000 for a helicopter, and Ann said she would pay that, and they still won't go look. We're all getting frantic. If anyone who sees this lives near that area, please see if there's anything you can do to alert search and rescue. If you can see it, there's a picture my niece posted on my facebook page. Robert is the 2nd from the left in that picture. Thank you."
