I was out playing on Shaver Lake yesterday, and a huge fire vapor cloud, then smoke could be seen to the SSE. I thought it was as close as a few miles, but looking at the
Cal Fire map, it must have been the giant "Rough Fire" farther away in Kings Canyon (due east of Fresno on the map). Looking at the map, I can see it is burning near (down river from) the Tehipite Valley area.
