I read that there were heavy rains last year and the trail to Lower Boy Scout Lake was ruined, and that there are loose and large rocks above the ledges.

Does anyone have any information that could be useful for someone hoping to do a summer ascent of MR?

Thanks.

The "trail" to Lower Boy Scout Lake is not a trail at all, just a well-used path. There was one really heavy storm, but I think it was two years ago. I've not seen any reports other than yours saying the route had been damaged at all.

A summer ascent should be the same as any other year.

Good luck!

Edit: Saw your post elsewhere; here is a fair amount of Mountaineers Route info: Mountaineers Route info and links

I was on that section of trail three times last summer...no problem. (There was a stinky deer carcase directly on the trail just below LBSL on one of my trips)

Thanks, good to know. I was supposed to go last year, but I got injured. Hoping for this year. K
