We are getting ready to go on a 4 day hike on the main trail.all the talk about the road
Construction we decided to get a camp site in lone pine camp ground,our permit kicks in actually on Thursday the 21st. So we are going to start our hike from the campground Wednesday morning and hike the recreation trail up to the portal and spend Wednesday night at the walk in campground. I was wondering if anyone has done this hike? From the research we have done its a 4.5 mile and an additional 2500 ft of gain . So from the portal we hope to hit trail camp Thursday, summit Friday go down to outpost camp Friday night than back to lone pine campground Saturday.any thoughts on this itinerary.
