I had my first experience this summer going from OV over Whitney and down. It was around 50 miles or so. In August of 2017 I would like to do that route again but this time coming back down to Guitar and going out though the Cottonwood Lakes area, taking Langley as a second 14k peak. I'm planning on doing this on a Thursday to following Friday trip. Eight nights and nine days. The plan would be to fly into Vegas and rent a car then drive to Lone Pine that same day. Getting to the trail head about 3 or so that day. I live in MN and would be looking for a possible trial partner for that trip. Meeting someone in Vegas from the West coast or even in Lone Pine.
