Hey everyone! I have a group with aspirations of attempts on Mt Williamson and Mt Tyndall in a few weeks (camping overnight) and was wondering if there were any recent trip reports in July or updates on conditions? Any news on conditions in the chimney on the Williamson ascent or on the north rib route for the Tyndall ascent? Thanks!
I am aware of someone who successfully climbed Mt Williamson about one week ago. They said the conditions were good and crampons weren't needed. They noted that the snowbridges on Shepherd's Pass helped make the ascent easier.
Sure, but keep in mind that conditions could be very different with multiple weeks of high temperatures in the Owens Valley. The snow bridges can either be gone or dangerous. Would prepare for difficult conditions.
