Hey guys - at what elevation does snow level begin in various sections of the eastern sierra? Any good class 2/3 eastern sierra hikes that are safe right now?

Thx

Currently, it looks like between 8,000 - 9,000. There are a large number of good class 2/3 climbs over here, but there might be avalanche hazard on some approaches and peaks. With the current warming trend the snow level will getting higher, and rock fall might increase on some peaks as the frozen-in stuff starts to dislodge.

Also, check the following:

Also has anyone been up the mountaineers route lately/do you think the willows are still covered in snow or did you have to use the ledges?
Thanks!

Ledges. There just hasn't been enough snow to consolidate over the brush enough to make that route passable.
