Next week, we’ll be parking a car in Lone Pine so we just have one car at the Portal. Does anyone know some good spots - or spots to stay away from that might annoy the locals?

Last year the Lone Pine Chamber of Commerce had low cost parking. You might give them a call.

I thing the movie museum offered overnight parking.

i don't know if that was only during the road construction or not.

Definitely NO parking at the Lone Pine Visitor Center! We ended up leaving my truck parked at our campsite in the Alabama Hills while we took my son's truck up to the Portal. There was plenty of parking at the Portal, but I'm guessing there is less in July/August.
