Looking like a 40% chance of rain/t-storms at elevation on Wed 7/11 when we plan on camping out at Upper Boy Scout lake before summiting early Thursday.
Any advice on best way to make it through any storms that pass through?
Using a Big Agnes Fly Creek HV UL 2 Tent to hide out in. Should we try to stay close to taller rock formations? What's the usual (to the extent that anything is usual) pattern for storms near LBSL/UBSL? Does it make sense to camp at a lower altitude if it looks risky?
Just set up the tent at Upper Boy Scout. If you're worried about lightning, the lake is in such a deep valley, I think the high ridges on both sides would take all of the strikes.
Be sure to carry rain gear in case you're caught out in the storms.
