Mt Whitney Zone Forums General Discussion Walkup reservations on recreation.gov updating?

Does anyone know how often the inventory for walk up reservations for Inyo wilderness permits are being updated? I've been monitoring the Cottonwood Lakes permits and haven't seen any allocation for the walk-ups come thru.

I tried calling the Inyo Wilderness Permits office (760) 873-2483, but they aren't answering.

You have to keep calling that number, since it is used by permit holders to have their permit emailed to them. Some get through quickly, others have to dial repeatedly for hours.

If you get an answer from them for your question, please post here. I'd like to hear how they are handling the walk-in (held-back) permits, too.

A ton of available reservations across the board just got dropped into the site like within the past hour or so.... So I'm guessing it's a manual thing. They don't have the date I want just yet, so I think I need to wait another day or two.
