Quick trip report following the cold front/snow
Headed up for a slow multi-day with stops at LBS and Iceberg. Nothing notable up to Iceberg.
Iceberg still frozen solid, couldn't chip through to water. Snow supply only.
Chute was snow filled up to the last couple hundred feet. Leaving early AM it was frozen enough for good purchase going up. Coming down by late morning had turned to soft snow / mashed potatoes.
Final 400 was a bit filled in with ice/snow. One pair went up it and came back via traverse. We did traverse both ways. Between us it was well tracked by the end of the day.
Successful summit and very happy to hear on return to Lone Pine that the lost hiker that SAR helos were out for was found safe.
