I didn't know this until recently, but you can get a Yosemite-themed CA DMV license plate. I saw one on the road down here in San Diego.

Apparently, there are about ~44k vehicles with these in California.

100% of the premium for these special tags goes to fund special projects within the park.

That's pretty cool. On that note, I ordered a custom plate for one of our cars back in June, 23, and we have not received the new plates. Must be just one person creating the plates.

I've never had a custom plate of any kind, but in this case I would consider it.

It would be cool if they had Mt Whitney or PCT-themed plates.

I've had the Yosemite plates on my car(s) for at least a decade now - $20 from each plate goes to the Yosemite Conservancy (https://yosemite.org/) - mine are just sequential though, not personalized, it wasn't worth the extra $$$ a year for the personalized ones for me

oh and for the person that mentioned ordering personalized plates in June 23 - the website says it can take up to 8 months right now

I got the black Classic California plates. Mostly because the black blended in great with my Cherokee's trim. Otherwise, I might have gone with the Yosemite plates.

My plate reads:

You've got to be creative to get a plate like that in California!

More than half the time I can't figure out what a custom plate actually means.
