Owens Valley air is starting to look like the San Joaquin Valley air near Bakersfield/Arvin.

Journey well...

Is this bad air an indication of anything hikers should be aware of?

According to dmatt stating the PM10 levels as unhealthy in Owens Valley, the air "up there" could be the same or better.

If you have respiratory problems, I would reconsider a hike if it is smokey up there.

Hopefully, those on the mountain now will provide a TR for all of us upon completion of their hikes.

Journey well...

The Canyon Fire near Bodfish is the cause of the additional smoke in the area making poor visibility. As of this morning it was 6000 acres with 20% containment.

Thanks, Tom. I had to look up Bodfish. It's just a couple of miles southwest of Lake Isabella on the Highway 178 that goes between Bakersfield and Walker Pass.
