this article about an army vet who ran 4,425 miles cross-country (Astoria, Oregon to somewhere in Maine) in honor of his fellow soldiers who have fallen in Iraq.
It says he averaged 29 miles/day, and only stopped for 4 days the whole trip, having begun on May 1 and finished today.
Sorta makes the Badwater-to-Whitney run look like preschool playground recess by comparison.
