Just to let a few of you know that I am treating for a recurrence of prostate cancer. I have begun radiation treatments. So far I have finished 4 of 40 scheduled radiation treatments.I took time off the board to get my head in the right place as I begin this current battle. I took time to research alternative treatments and even looked into clinical trials.Due to a rapid elevation of my PSA I had no choice but to begin traditional radiation treatments.I have slowly crawled back onto this board. I will post more frequently from time to time. Thanks to those that took time to inquire about my absence from posting here.My plan is to take a victory lap up to summit Whitney this summer.

Good Luck Rod.... I'm with you. Let me know the victory lap date and I'll plan on being there. Joe

Rod, I am so sorry to hear that! Our family's thoughts and prayers are with you, and Lady Bulldawg sends a great big hug. I've spent very little time on the board myself the past couple of months, but I thought I had noticed an absence of the DRD when I did have a chance to try and catch up. I just assumed it was me blazing through the posts.

I know Whitney was a big motivational factor in your last treatment regimen, and I'm definitely with Joe - once this round of treatment licks the cancer and you're ready to hit Whitney again, I'm there with you guys for the celebration!

Good luck with the treatments, Rod. I sure hope they bring everything back to normal.

Last time I was on the summit, I thought about you and your picture at the summit hut. I was trying to come up with a picture that would honor your effort, but anything I could do would not measure up.

I am pulling for your "Victory Lap" this summer.

Hi Rod,

I want you to know that I did notice your absence and I'm happy to see you're back on the WZ. From the first day I started posting on the WZ (August 2010) I had always noticed your posts, especially your jokes....then it seemed like all of a sudden you disappeared....then just as quickly as you disappeared - - you reappeared... just recently I started seeing posts by you again,... especially your Silly Jokes along-side Wagga's Silly Jokes. I believe Steve C. told me at one time that things slow down on the Board after summer. Since I'm new to the WZ, I wasn't certain if people disappearing was a common occurence, so I never asked... I'm so happy to see you're back and I want you to know I wish for you a very happy and healthy 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015.....3000. Who knows, maybe we'll all still be around in 3000...scientists, biologists, and medical doctors around the world are finding new cures all the time for all kinds of old and new diseases. I look forward to reading your Trip Report this Summer on your next Mt. Whitney Summit.

Happy New Year,Rod
Love,
Lynn-a-roo
