Thanks for your comments. The thing about the last 400' are the consequences of an error. While I doubt there are any "moves" that require super human strength or balance, and is likely "doable" by both my daughter and me, the risk is just not worth it, so we will most likely do the main trail. Yes, it is long, but for my daughters first Mt. Whitney Hike I would like to optimize on safety and success.
