Steve, remember my story about exhaustion on the Panorama Trail? I know from that experience that this is what Stephan was experiencing and its just as much a medical emergency as AMS. Not necessarily dangerous in itself, but the wandering off the trail is just one of the possibly deadly symptoms. Shame on anyone not to help this guy, a reminder to all how fortunate we all are to have guys like you on the trail.
And hey, if you haven't been backed off Whitney by unseasonable weather, you haven't been trying.
I'll be out there in early Aug, and may try the HST again.
