I am looking at doing a variation on this next year. I will be ascending Crabtree Creek to climb WHitney by a general route from an old map. The route goes around the upper lake (Lake 12119), ascends toward Crabtree Pass, then goes around the cirque to Discovery Pinnacle. I seem to recall pictures of the route from Crabtree Pass from several years ago. I am wondering if this is what psychokid is describing, and if anyone recalls where I can find those pics?
