CONGRATS! And kuel! Those weekends must be really hard to get. Now go out and buy a lottery ticket: you certainly are on a winning streak!

If they try to charge my cc tomorrow, I'm screwed. I've come to realize that my cc expires 03/11.

Didn't we go over this though? Didn't somebody say they'll call in these cases?

Please say yes... please say yes... please say yes...

Good idea on the registered mail, GandC--I'll do that next time. I have always had luck with the US Mail service itself--it's usually the folks inside the place it went to that misplace the mail...my home included lol

Yes, they will call you. But I think they might wait until all the others are processed before they start calling.

I got my reservation in the mail today! Permit for 10/1! It was the last alternate date on my application. Barely made it I guess!

Lucky you! This is the best time of year to be on the mountain (both times I have been on Whitney was in the fall) no crowds, cool temps, early autumn color. All of the water sources will be running, except the switchback spring most likely will be down to a trickle. Low temps can vary; the more experienced can offer up more details ( I was perfectly comfortable using a 20 degree bag and a bivy)

The body betrays and the weather conspires, hopefully, not on the same day.

laugh I got a credit card hit! I feel like I just caught a big fish. Now, I'll have to wait to see what date I got. I put in both overnight, and one day trips in my list. I've been checking every day.

Same here Julie. Now that I know I'm going, I'm excited as all get up, but now I can't wait to find out what days, if it's overnight or day trip, etc. The anxiety appears to be never ending in this process.

Good one, Steve!!

Congrats Brent!Just curious--how do you know it is for the week of July 19th? Is it the only date you picked? The cc transactons do not say anything about dates...

I was still in limbo on both of my apps until yesterday. I got one hit on my cc for one of the apps. Still no rejection or cc hit for the other app. I get the feeling things are going to start happening a little faster over the next week or so.

Keep in mind that they don't even allow changes, etc. until April 20, which probably still means they are processing stuff and sending out notices until almost that time.

It's only April 1.
