Vatican 2 was the doom of Latin scholars, alas. Everything always sounds better in Latin including, pardon me, religion.

As dawn came the next morning, the lookout screamed that there were pirate ships, 10 of them, all with boarding parties on their way. The men became silent and looked to the Captain, their leader, for his usual command.

with some a lot of time on my hands, i found that mr google translate offers a different, if not better, translation of your english into latin.

Verum audaces non gerunt indusia alba.

and having studied latin recently, well this millenium anyway, i think it's closer to what you intended. or not. ymmv.

My original was kinda pidgin latin, just for fun.

So, I shall change it.

I develop multi-lingual software, and have only English, so I've found that Google Translate is very useful to get the initial word strings into the database. Latin can be much more succinct or very much more verbose than English, so it helps with designing the field lengths.

Pidgin English is a fascinating language, though.

I need some help here. I do remember a latin saying moulded in the filigree on a clock in our home of decades back in South India, "Amor Amos Vincent" meaning "Love conquers all". How do I change this to "Love of Nature conquers all" ?

I did learn Sanskrit and several other languages including some "clingon" but not Latin So appreciate your input!

Okay found it!

It should be "amor omnis vincite"! Should not depend on childhood memories, especially for Latin spelling! So checking googlamma (Numen vocavit Google), it should be "amor vincit omnia naturae"!

I think the Romans would have rearranged the words. Verbs were always last. Something like "naturae amor omnia vincit".

But I probably have it wrong, too.
