Reminds me of the desk-jockey ranger who once told me I couldn't have a
true wilderness experience if I carried a Spot or other electronic device on my back-country trip. ...Hmmmm... I'm going to start telling everyone they can't have a
true wilderness experience if they hike only on trails.
Edit: But I do want to give Hobbes credit here: He told me about the sandy beach at the middle Crabtree Lake. That turned out to be a sweet place to spend a night.
